Exactly how the process works

1

Create account & connect Claude

Sign up at publishmcp.net — free for 30 days. Copy your personal MCP connector URL from the settings page and paste it into Claude (Claude.ai → Settings → Connectors or Claude Desktop config). Done in 2 minutes.

2

Write & publish via Claude

Tell Claude what to write. It generates the article, optionally creates a header image, and calls the publish_article tool to save it to your PublishMCP account. Articles are stored in your account and editable there at any time.

3

Display on your site + get backlinks

Your site reads articles from our JSON API (/api.ashx?aid=X&secret=Y) and renders them however you like. We provide ready-made code for ASP.NET — easy on any platform. Published articles are also listed on newsorwhat.com, giving you a do-follow backlink and extra visitors automatically.

Example: fetch and display articles (ASP.NET / C#)

string url = "https://www.publishmcp.net/api.ashx?aid=YOUR_ID&secret=YOUR_SECRET";
string json = new WebClient().DownloadString(url);
var articles = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<List<Article>>(json);
// bind to repeater, render as HTML — done.

Works the same in PHP, JavaScript, Python, or any language that can make an HTTP request.

Common questions

PublishMCP is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that gives Claude the tools to write and publish articles to your website. Articles are stored in your PublishMCP account and served to your site via a JSON API. You can also edit articles directly in your account dashboard. Published articles are automatically listed on newsorwhat.com, giving you a do-follow backlink and additional traffic.

Your site makes an HTTP request to our JSON API endpoint: https://www.publishmcp.net/api.ashx?aid=YOUR_ID&secret=YOUR_SECRET. The API returns a JSON array of your published articles with title, slug, summary, body HTML, category, image URL and publish date. Your site renders them however you like. We provide a ready-made code snippet for ASP.NET/C# but it works identically in PHP, JavaScript, Python or any other language.

Yes. All articles are stored in your PublishMCP account and accessible from the Articles section of your dashboard. You can edit, unpublish, or delete any article there. You can also ask Claude to update an article by slug using the update_article tool — Claude will fetch the existing content, apply your changes, and save the updated version.

When syndication is enabled in your account settings, your published articles are automatically listed on newsorwhat.com. Your site remains the canonical source — there is no duplicate content penalty. Each listing includes a do-follow link back to the article on your site, which builds domain authority over time and sends referral traffic. Syndication is optional and free to enable on all plans.

Yes. PublishMCP includes an upload_image and generate_image tool. In one conversation you can tell Claude: “write an article about X, generate a header image, and publish it.” Claude generates the image, uploads it to your account storage, gets back a URL, and includes it in the published article. Images are served from our CDN.

The full tool list: publish_article, update_article, delete_article, list_articles, get_article, upload_image, generate_image. Claude uses these automatically based on what you ask — you don’t need to call tools manually.

Yes. Cancel any time from your account settings. No questions asked, no hidden fees. Your published articles remain accessible during your billing period.
